Dr. Thomas H. Gaetz, 69 Augustine Rd., died at Port Colborne General Hospital Sunday in his 79th year. Born at Red Deer, Alta., he has lived in the Wainfleet area for the past 15 years. He served in the First World War with the 50th Battery for many years. He was employed by the State of Connecticut and later for the Veterans Administration Board in Rockland, Mass., and at Saginaw, Mich.
Dr. Gaetz is survived by his wife Lella Parke Gaetz; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Baker (Ygerne) of Hamburg, N.Y., Mrs. John Fallon (Geraldine) of St. Louis, Mo., a son, Dr. Harold P. Gaetz of Nyack, N.Y., and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Stone of Calgary, Alta. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Dr. Gaetz is at the Port Colborne Chapel of Davidson Funeral Homes, 135 Clarence St., were the service will be conducted by Rev. Norman Penrose of Morgans Point United Church Wednesday at 11 a.m.; burial will follow in Morgans Point Cemetery.
Lella Viola (Parke) Gaetz was born May 7,1899 in Caledonia, Ontario and died on July 12, 1992 in Port Colborne, Ontario.
ReplyDeleteDaughter Ygerne was born November 14, 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta and died April 23, 1987 in Hamburg, New York. Ygerne is survived by her five children - Carol, Tom, Diane, Bruce and Mark.
Son Harold was born December 3, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut and died Thursday evening June 19, 2014 in Nyack, New York. Harold is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters Tracy, Heidi and Kelly; daughter Marti.
